What we offer

We can provide advice on your rights, carers assessments, taking a break from caring and accessing services for you and the person you care for.

You can call us during these hours.

Mon 9.00am - 5.00pm

Tues 9.00am - 7.30pm(evening opening)

Weds 9.00am - 5.00pm

Thurs 9.00am - 5.00pm

Fri 9.00am - 5.00pm

 Advocacy

We can provide an advocate for you if you are registered with us and care for someone with a disability or care needs.

You might want to know your rights or have access to certain information… an advocate can act on your behalf to get your views acknowledged and understood.

Fire & carers together (FACT)

We work in partnership with Suffolk Fire & Rescue to keep you and the person you care for safe in the event of a fire.

We provide information to the fire service if you care for someone to ensure that, in the event of an emergency, the crew are aware that you may have a vulnerable person living with you and are more sensitive to your needs, getting both you and the person you care for out safely.

Our partnership with the fire service also means we can arrange for a Community Fire Safety Officer to come to your home and run through a Safer Home Check.

Moving & Handling

Groups for you

When you are looking after someone, who is looking after you?

Groups of family carers meet across the county giving you the opportunity to chat, relax and gain information.

Learning disabilities project

If the person you care for has a learning disability, we can help. We can provide information and advice about services, including how to get assessments, support planning and housing options.

We also offer an advocacy service if the person you care for is moving in or out of residential care.

We also collect information from you to inform the Suffolk Learning Disability Partnership Board (SLDPB) who make decisions about services for you in Suffolk.

Talk & support

As a family carer you will know that caring for someone can be very isolating.  Being able to have a conversation with someone who will listen and support you can provide a huge boost.

Our talk & support service matches you with one of our volunteers who will call you on a regular basis to give you some support and company.

We hope that by talking to one of our telephone volunteers, you will feel less isolated and more able to cope with your day-to-day caring role.

To access our talk & support service, call our information line on: 01473 835477.

Our Caring with Confidence sessions offer you information and support in your caring role. Focussed sessions on caring for someone with dementia are also available to you through our Caring for Dementia with Confidence sessions. Please call 01473 835446 for more information.
