About us

We are a large team who pride themselves on providing the best support to you if you care for someone with a mental health condition, dementia, ASD/ADHD or someone who has difficulties with drugs or alcohol.

What we offer

Mental health

If you care for someone experiencing mental health difficulties we can help.

We provide information and peer support sessions to support you in your caring role, focused one to one assistance and attend drop ins on acute Mental Health wards. Working in partnership with other agencies, we also facilitate a range of forums and events, providing you with the opportunity to gain information from a variety of speakers on mental health and caring.

Enabling you to be involved in the work we do is central to our work and we support you to feedback on your experiences of services, to share expertise and influence the way new services are developed.

Dementia support

Please note: accessing any of the links below will take you to external websites for more information

If you care for someone with dementia you can meet with one of our support workers who can help you consider your well-being and the support you need to carry on caring.

Caring for Dementia with Confidence is our 5 week information and support programme designed to help you consider all of the elements involved in caring for someone with dementia and how to look after yourself too.

To access the programme, call 01473 835446.

We are part of the dementia partnership – 4 organisations whose role it is to make sure you are supported.

Caring with Confidence

Our Caring with Confidence sessions offer you information and support in your caring role. Focussed sessions on caring for someone with dementia are also available to you through our Caring for Dementia with Confidence sessions.

Your well-being

In partnership with the Suffolk Well-being Service we run a four week 'Well-being for Me' programme, which gives you the opportunity to explore some of your feelings in relation to your caring role.

We will look at stress, anxiety, being more assertive and not forgetting about your own needs.

For more information please contact Di Goodchild on 01473 835438 or use the contact form below.

Ravenswood Family Carer Wellbeing Hub.

An opportunity to meet other family carers with a focus on your own well-being. Held at Ravenswood Community Childrens Centre, 103 Henning Avenue, Ipswich, IP3 9QL.

For more information, contact Diane Goodchild on 01473 835438.

ASD/ADHD support

We run an ASD/ADHD programme for you if you care for someone diagnosed with Autism or ADHD.

The programme focuses on your well-being when caring for someone diagnosed with ADHD or Autism.

For more information, please contact 01473 835438 or use the link to our secure site in the contact us section below.

Substance misuse

Working across Suffolk in partnership with Turning Point, we run the 'Navigating the Road' to recovery programme if you care for someone who is experiencing difficulties with substances. The five session programme provides you with information, advice and the opportunity to meet with others who have a similar caring role. We link with Turning Point and other agencies to increase the range of support available to you.

We support you to become involved in the services you receive through consultation and feedback to provide opportunities for you to meet to discuss and share experiences.

Ways you can get involved

As we work alongside lots of other organisations in Suffolk trying to provide the best service we can to you, we would like you to tell us what would make your caring role easier and what services can do to help that.

We hold focus groups and forums at various times to get your feedback.

If you would like to tell us your thoughts please call us on 01473 835420.
