Support in the NHS
We work in partnership with professionals like you right across Suffolk to ensure family carers receive the best possible information, advice and support when they are caring for someone.
As a professional you may be the first to identify a family carer. This might be from your work in the community, GP surgery or hospital. We are here to ensure you are able to give them all the help and support they need.
We welcome professionals to come and meet with us to find out more about what we do.
You will meet with two of our Advisers who work on our Information Line, to gain an overview of family carers and our services. The sessions are fairly informal and there are lots of opportunities to ask questions to ensure you gain all the information you need.
We hold these sessions at our main base in Claydon (just outside Ipswich) from 9.30-11am.

We host a forum for professionals working with family carers aged 18+. We discuss issues faced by carers and useful services. We often have guest speakers giving updates on new developments and services. The forum meets every 2-3 months in Claydon. If you would like to know more, please contact Suzie Stephens (Professional Training Lead) on 07500816254 or email email@example.com.
We offer professional training if you work in health or social care. We can advise you on how to identify family carers within your work setting, how to raise awareness of family carers needs and their rights, discuss a range of support services that you can offer to family carers and also explain how to refer a family carer to us.
